Let’s Talk About Joy: God’ Joy
Since joy comes from God, let’s look at some examples in the Bible to find out what causes God to rejoice.
God rejoices in His own works – He rejoices in us! Here are some examples of God’s joy for us:
*Psalm 104:31 (KJV) “The glory of the Lord shall endure forever: the Lord shall rejoice in His works.”
*Psalm 105:43 (AMP) “He brought out His people with joy, and His chosen ones with a joyful shout…”
*Zephaniah 3:17 (AMP) “The Lord Your God is in your midst, a Warrior Who saves. He will rejoice over you with joy; He will be quiet in His love [making no mention of your past sins], He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.”
*Deuteronomy 28:63 (AMP) “… the Lord delighted over you to make you prosper and multiply…”
*Deuteronomy 30:9 (AMP) “for the Lord will again delight over you for good, just as He delighted over your fathers”
*Isaiah 65:19 (AMP) “I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in my people”
*Jeremiah 32:41 (AMP) “I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul.”
Now that we have seen that God’s joy comes from us, His children, we need to explore this wonderful attribute that He has given us. We need to learn what the purpose of this God-kind of eternal joy is, and what it can mean in our lives!
